Parents, Caregivers and Loved Ones
There is no greater gift than the gift of unconditional love.
Are you curious if we’d be a good fit?
There answer is probably “yes” if any of the following describe you:
-You’re a supportive parent and want to be there for your child, but you don’t know how.
-You’re scared of saying or doing the wrong thing and are afraid of alienating or harming your loved one.
-You’re worried for their safety and only want what’s best for your child.
-You’re loved one is using language you don’t understand and you are unable to keep up with the changes they are experiencing.
-You think your child is too young to understand or make big decisions about their gender or attraction.
-You think your child is going through a phase or is confused and you don’t want to encourage something that might not be lasting.
-You’re not sure what transgender or non-binary means, or why your loved one asks you to use they/them pronouns.
-You’re terrified of what gender transition might mean, and you worry about your loved one altering their bodies or potentially making irreversible changes they might regret down the road.
-You’re not sure what puberty blockers are or hormone therapies or surgeries and you feel overwhelmed by all of it.
-Your child seems depressed, checked out, withdrawn, harming themselves, acting out, or deeply unhappy, and/or has shared that they don’t feel comfortable talking to you or that you don’t understand them.
-You’re feeling grief and loss over the person you thought you knew and you are not sure about how to accept the person your loved one says they are now.
-You’re having a hard time admitting to friends, coworkers and family that you have a child who is LGBTQ, and are uncomfortable speaking up when you hear derogatory comments about LGBTQ people.
-You need someone to listen to you without judgement, or offer guidance without pressure, who can validate your feelings and encourage you through difficult moments and also celebrate the victories in your family’s journey.
-You want to apply your mindfulness practice to the process parenting or caregiving an LGBTQ person.
-You’re feeling isolated and lost, so you are seeking information, resources and support to help guide you through this process.
